What is the meaning of Omkar? Namaskaram (Hello) Today I'll teach you to chant (or recite) 'Omkar' and will tell you about its benefits and what 'Omkar' is.
Lets first understand what is 'Omkar'. Actually, you, me or so many people who are in this world, speak different languages and dialects.
But the sound that everybody produces from deep inside the throat is same, This is the sound of 'Om'.
which is generally called Raw sound.
A sound that is natural and without any tampering.
When our tongue and lips touch each other at different timings and angles, together they change the shape of our vocal sound and air coming through throat That's how different words form.
But 'Omkar' is absolutely untouched.
It is natural on which no hitting or tampering is done.

This 'Omkar' is like an unbaked clay pot.
We can't even compare it with Raw pitcher. It's like raw clay, to which the potter gives shape and makes a pot.
In the same way, we give our words to the pure sound which is coming from inside.
Now let's talk about why to do 'Omkar' Because our mind needs to be in peace and while chanting 'Omkar' when we make this sound at last & become quiet then our sound meets with the silence It connects with the silence while chanting 'Omkar'.
So you must understand this, that when you chant 'Omkar', you go into the silence because the recitation of 'Omkar' is close to silence.
Any other sound, because of our tampering and giving different shapes, So, they do not create so much silence and peace within.
So this is 'Omkar'.
Now, what are its benefits? At the physical level, it creates vibration all over the body.
because of which our whole body becomes absolutely calm.
and its functioning gets restarted in a fresh tone.
We can explain it like our body and mind get freshen up and clean.
It gets wiped with the chanting of 'omkar' Sometimes, after doing some work

when we start doing another work, then we keep recalling some things from previous work.

because few abstracts of old work are still in the mind.

If we chant 'Omkar' then we get disconnected from the past and future and come to the present.

This is the power of 'Omkar' because this is the pure form of sound.
As this is purest, it is God-like.
That's why it is said that 'Omkar' is the name of God.
because anything which is pure, we see God in that.
As a child is gullible, innocent, pure and his mind is clean, we say that children are the form of God.

In the same way, when we see the purity in anything,
we call it God So this is the name of God because it is untampered by human beings This is a pure form of sound.
If we tamper it then it will become man-made creativity.

Because it has not tampered at all, that is why it's rich with silence.
and the moment we chant this 'Omkar', we also get connected to that silence.

So these are some of its benefits.

Now let us understand how to do it.

Before chanting Omkar pay attention to 2-3 things.
Firstly, whenever you sit for 'Omkar' chanting, start by inhaling and exhaling once.

This will balance your breathing.

After inhaling and exhaling once, then inhale again and start chanting 'Omkar'.

But do not fill your lungs tightly with the breath.
 Just breathe lightly.

If you'll fill it in your lungs strenuously,
So while exhaling,
the air will come out with pressure from the lungs.

which will spoil the rhythm of your chanting.
You will not feel relaxed doing it.

Thirdly, do not close your eyes to this.

Just leave your eyelids loose and let them c
lose themselves This way you will not feel stress in the eyes.

Keep all your focus either on your lips or on your breathing pattern or at the center of your forehead, so that your concentration does not get distracted.

Apply gesture of meditation and put it on your knees.

  • This is the preparation and method of 'omkar' In this your back should be straight,
  • take a deep breath, OM The more you will stretch the 'Ma' sound at the end and stop it smoothly,
  • more peace will you feel.

If you'll not do so, understand how "Ma' sound is produced.

While speaking 'om', close your lips, it will make a sound of "Ma' and when you chant 'Ma' by extending it & then gradually slowing your voice & then you stop, Your mind automatically becomes peaceful.

This is the right method to chant "Omkar'.

You can do it 5, 7, 11, or 21 times, once or twice a day, before or after Yoga.

There is no harm.

In fact, in our tradition, when sunrises or about to rise, when it sets or about to set or during noon, when the sun is at its peak, 'Om' recitation used to be done during all these three times.

It was called 'Trikaal sandhya' (Transition times in a day i.e. morning, afternoon & evening) The one who does 'Trikala Sandhya', gets connected with God.

People believe in it, feel it and many mystics have experienced it.

So, you should chant 'Omkar' especially before doing any holy work.
or if you want to make any work holy.

Even if you do any business or go to your job, So before starting your work you can chant 3-5 times This will make your mind clear.
You'll be able
